Gross Weight
Definition of Gross Weight
The gross weight of an object is its total weight, including its packaging.
The net weight of an object is its weight without its packaging.
The picture shows a can of soup with gross weight, \(607 \text{ g}\). The label on the can states that its net weight is \(535 \text{ g}\), so the weight of the can and label is \(607 - 535 = 72 \text{ g}\).
