Open for tours from Thursday to Sunday at 2pm the Packard and Pioneer Museum is housed in a collection of buildings formerly the Old Dairy Factory in Maungatapere. Encompassing the largest collection of Packard cars in the world, as well as 230 other classic and vintage vehicles, including motorcycles, trucks, earthmovers, military vehicles, traction and steam engines, stationary engines, vintage toys, radios, stoves, telephones, the list goes on.... In short this collection is a total celebration of colonial life. Located in the Town Basin in Whangarei, 'History on Wheels: A Revolving Sampler Exhibition of the Packard and Pioneer Museum' is open Tuesday to Sunday 10am-4pm
