Enjoy helping students understand Maths and Stats, particularly in relation to the Social Sciences. Would enjoy helping on a range of courses like * Maths for Social Science, including economists, sociologists and psychologists * Statistics for Social Science, especially Econometrics and Social Statistics * Statistical Software support * Social Survey Construction and Analysis * Business Management * Macroeconometrics, Welfare Economics, Psychometrics Many people are interested in running there own questionnaires or surveys, an area where I have extensive knowledge of not only setting up surveys but also in how to analyse then afterwards. I have always enjoyed teaching, especially helping students overcome their fears of Maths and Stats. I really enjoy showing the value of maths and stats using all manner of practical examples, from working out designs in woodwork, to appraising newspaper artilces properly, to understanding reports by so-called think tanks. It is great to show real examples of the value of this knowledge in our daily lives. I have taught people from age 17 to age 55, from university courses to business management courses for firms and for the Australian Armed Forces. I enjoy taking examples relevant to my students' own lives to bring it to life for them. I can be available any day of the week given reasonable notice. Am very happy to discuss with you what arrangement suits you best. While I am in the Armidale area, I would be very happy to support people online from anywhere in the world as long as we could speak together in English. I can teach online using Skype with video or to groups with Adobe Connect. I can provide a photo any time but this can also be found on my web site http://www.act- on-climate.org.au which is another of my interests. I am happy to negotiate an appropriate charge according to your situation, which means to include help in developing countries up to staff in banks in capital cities. I am very flexible as I enjoy passing on my skils.
