At age 15 my family relocated to a different area which subsequently led to private tutoring to deal with the discrepancies in the syllabus requirements of the two schools. This experience fostered significant respect for extra-curricular tutoring and also provided significant insight into the many qualities essential for a great tutor. For example I attempt to create a learning environment where all questioning is encouraged no matter how strange the question may seem. As a former student I often found that it was the answering of my own "stupid" questions which truly created knowledge! As a tutor I offer specialised tuition to secondary school students and early year University undergraduates studying courses of a scientific nature. For high school students I specialise in drastically increasing a student's ability in Biology,Chemistry and PDHPE. For university students I specialise in tutoring subjects involving fundamental chemistry, biology, anatomy and basic physics. Lessons I teach are largely personalised to the individual's needs and requirements however as general outline, my tuition involves: - analysis of the student's areas of difficulty - explanation of difficult concepts from a RELATABLE perspective; I am still a student and know how to explain an idea from multiple viewpoints. - practice of questions related to problem material - explanation of the requirements of assessment tasks (if applicable).
