My name is Brandon Yeats and I graduated Mechatronics Engineering at Curtin University with Honors in 2012. I achieved a TER of 97.55, from Applicable Mathematics, Calculus, Chemistry, and Physics. I have been recommended by a few of my friends and past tutoring students to become an academic due to my ability to pass on knowledge effectively, and to overcome difficult learning barriers, whether they be social; mental; or background/knowledge based. I am also very friendly and approachable. I have 6 years tutoring experience, tutoring, and adapt well to a student's learning style and any learning difficulties. I understand difficulties that can be experienced throughout education such as bullying, learning difficulties, difficulties in concentration, etc. and the impact these can have on both a social and academic level. I have a passion for mathematics and computing, knowing my way around a computer very well, as well as knowing a few programming languages. I have achieved high grades in all of my units (both practical and theory based ones), averaging a high distinction, with an average of above 90% in the maths and programming subjects alone. I aim to teach students techniques they can employ to help them do the work themselves, so after a while they require tutoring less and less. This helps unlock their true potential and lets us focus on the really important areas in tutoring sessions. You know what they say, "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for the rest of his life" I do this by taking what the student already knows, and what interests them, and basing mental links and concepts from any subject on these, improving memory and grasp of the subject. I also offer a discount to students for their first session (1 hour) to ensure that they are comfortable with me. I currently work fly in fly out, so am available every second week only, and am available at any time during the week I am in Perth each fortnight.
