My name is Karishma Mohan. Currently, I am in my second year of an Arts degree in the University of Melbourne. My passion lies in teaching History, English and other humanities subjects such as Politics at a High School level. Personally, I believe I would enjoy teaching as I find it to be one of the most rewarding careers. In my past teaching experiences, such as tutoring my family friends’ children, I have found interaction with children both pleasant and stimulating. Aside from having a passion for teaching, I believe I would be suitable for this position as I am charismatic and articulate. Given the responsibility of tutoring your child, I will work hard to create a positive learning environment ensuring that the students both collectively learn and their individual goals are fulfilled. I graduated from VCE with an ATAR of 92.8. The subjects I chose were English (39), Literature (37), History Revolutions (41), History Renaissance (40) and Mathematics Methods (31). In university, I am majoring in history and art history. I structure my lessons firstly by developing a basic understanding of the students skill level and gaining insight into how they learn best (ie visually, theoretically etc.). I strongly believe that education is an individualistic experience and no two people learn in the same way. Furthermore, if they are preparing for a certain exam such as VCE or scholarship, I will tutor to fulfill the requirements of the exam and therefore, the student will achieve their desired results.
