Hi!
You are with Jas Chahal, In this course we will learn what SSH is. how you can remotely access your computers, We will also explore how to transfer files securely, we will also explore how to setup SSH servers.

This course will get you started with SSH.

We will not explore commands in depth, Idea is to get you started.

Things you should know.

I expect you to be comfortable with command line.

You should have a virtual machine running Linix Operating System, either configured using VMWare, VirtualBOX or online services like Amazon elastic cloud, With Amazon elastic cloud, you can use a micro instance for up to one year absolutely free, this is true at the time of producing this course). You can also use paid services such as Digital Ocean. With Digital Ocean you can create a Linux instance for as little as 5 dollars, this can change in future though.

I will use a remote virtual server, which has Ubuntu desktop installed. if you are familiar with ubuntu, great! else use any flavor of Linix OS to get started.

In next chapter I will cover what SSH is.
