I have worked as a school teacher for over four years in both public and private schools, teaching English and ESL, among other subjects. I majored in languages acquisition and linguistics at the University of Western Sydney. This has prepared me to develop and fine tune the language skills of students, with a particular emphasis on reading and writing. More specifically, I can work with students to improve: - pronunciation - word/letter-sound correspondence - grammar - sentence construction - writing particular text-types - reading comprehension - spelling/vocabulary Obtaining a Masters degree in education has furthered my understanding in how a child learns, and what strategies work best with each student. I work with the students to boost confidence and morale, and provide the necessary tools for the child to become independent learners. Over the years I have accumulated various resources to help with learning, so am able to provide worksheet where necessary. I can also edit and proofread assignments both at a secondary and tertiary level. Private one-on-one study and group tutoring available. Tutor from residence in Greenacre, however can travel to your home incurring an additional charge depending on location. I can tailor tutoring sessions to prepare students for standardised tests, including going through practice questions.
