I've taught maths at high school for 6 years, from Y7 - Ext 1. I'm extra good at chasing marks for 2-unit HSC Maths – I know how frequently each topic is asked, how it is marked, and how long different students take to master a topic. I can show you: • practical ways of making the hard questions easier, • practical ways of minimising mistakes and maximising speed, • practical ways of minimising how much you have to remember. Based on your strengths and weaknesses, I can tailor learning that will maximise your marks as quickly as possible - time is important, because you have other subjects to study. At the end of each session I leave you with notes on what to memorise and practice, and an estimate of how many extra marks you can now expect to get as a result of our work in that session. An ex IT consultant, I am expert at Software Design & Development (SDD), and very skilled at Information Processes & Technology (IPT) and IT (Y7 – Y12). I have some experience teaching Science (Y7 – Y10), and really enjoy science topics. I have a lot of ESL experience and have learnt a few languages. Plus I have helped many students with study suggestions that are actually doable (e.g. my daughter is now studying Law); I am good at tuning in to what students need. I like working with students who are chasing perfection, and I good at getting them there. But equally I enjoy working with students who just want to catch up with their class - achieving that is rewarding for both of us.
