As a tutor I have worked in a variety of settings with both private companies and The University of Queensland. I have experience with all knowledge levels and enjoy not only boosting a student's understanding, but allowing them to go above and beyond the curriculum. My teaching style involves the student taking charge of their learning. I provide worksheets during tuition, and these may either be used as the focus of the session or as homework. Usually I plan a lesson in ten to twenty minute intervals to keep students alert and active for the full session of tuition. After completion of high school I received an OP 1, and have used this to enter chemical engineering study at The University of Queensland. I am currently in my third year and as such I am comfortable teaching all mathematics and science subjects (including biology), but am able to easily help with English subjects. As I am a university student, my availability is in the afternoons, most generally Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. I am also happy to do weekends if needed, and during exam periods I am happy to provide more lessons if required. Overall I find tutoring a rewarding experience. Thus far I have helped over 10 year twelve students improve their grades, and in addition I am the first point of contact for 40 first year engineering students in their studies. I find I am easily approachable and able to spark a passion for achieving in the students I encounter.
