Hi there, I'm a recently qualified primary school teacher (grad dip) with an undergraduate degree in Anthropology. I finished my studies last year. While I was at uni, I worked as an education assistant for children with special needs. I also worked with homeschooled children and teenagers, assisting them in their academic learning and planning fun programs to promote social and emotional development. I am a practising visual artist and I have taught numerous holiday workshops on a range of creative subjects including costume making, conceptual art, stage makeup and food science. I am passionate about promoting literacy and numeracy skills, and I am understanding of the frustrations that occur when there are barriers to learning in these areas. I have worked with a number of children with learning difficulties (dyslexia, autism and developmental delays) and have helped them to move forward. I love to make learning as exciting as possible by tailoring material to students' interests and adopting a creative approach to activities. I always discuss learning needs with both student and parents, and then collaboratively design a program which will best meet the student's needs. I can teach any subject up to year 7 level, and I can teach humanities subjects (Social Studies, English) up to high school level. I can assist with essay writing and exam preparation.
