TEACHING POSITIVE WITH A DIFFERENCE I know what it's like to dislike or struggle with a subject. I can help advance your skills in English, and I promise that you will enjoy the journey. In my sessions we'll work together so that you'll have confidence in tackling that big essay or 'boring' text. You won't be 'allergic' to English exams any longer! WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK Yes. AVAILABILITY I'm available weeknights and on Sundays after 2pm. Extra times are available on school holidays and around exam time. $45 is a flat rate for 1 - 1.5 hours. LEVELS OF TRAINING I have a sound knowledge of the English curriculum (Ausvels levels 7 -10) and the VCE. I have worksheets and resources for these levels. STRUCTURE OF LESSONS Step 1: What do you want to gain out of your tutoring sessions? - Essay writing help - Improve comprehension or reading skills - Gain more confidence in the subject as a whole. Step 2: Where are you in the subject? - Let's see some work from school, and some teacher feedback - Ongoing communication between you, parents and me. I'm a firm believer in communication and I like to keep both the student and parents up to date with constructive feedback. Step 3: Once we have worked out what area(s) to develop, together we'll break down the task into simple steps (like this list) and suddenly it doesn't feel so overwhelming. - How do you learn? I'll tailor my sessions accordingly. - Every student learns at a different pace and as long as they are prepared to learn, I will be tenacious in helping them hone their English skills for exams and life beyond school.
