My name is Sophie and I've had 4 years of math tutoring and piano teaching experience. I am a young, motivated tutor with a wide range of skills (math to piano, one could say). And most importantly, I want to help your child excel in whichever field they need. I am currently in my final semester completing the Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne, majoring in Geology, with a sub majors in Mathematics and General Science. I am also in my last few months in completing the final grade (8th grade) of AMEB. I have 4 years experience in teaching all year levels of Mathematics, concentrating on high school and VCE mathematics, and in teaching beginner to intermediate Piano. These two fields are two of my passions and my aim is to help my students find the beauty of them and want to study and learn. MATH: Many students dislike math because they struggle to learn in their environment at school, and begin to dislike it. That's where I come in. I am a passionate young tutor that aims to develop a friendship with my students, motivating them to learn and achieve their very best. I offer homework assistance, and develop a program with them that suits the student personally to help them understand the material to their full extent. I aim to teach the topics first with me at tutoring, and later they will repeat the topic at school, allowing them a deeper understanding when learning it twice. I am available at all times over messages, phone calls or email. PIANO: My piano students are very motivated and excited to learn, because I help them find the 'fun' in struggles of learning a new instrument. Using a fun piano book guide, I teach my students the techniques to play classical music, to later allow them pick up any type of musical they wish to play, and apply all the skills they've learnt.
