I would like to start off my tutoring career by helping and assisting primary schoolers. However, I can also tutor highschoolers if needed. I very much enjoy helping others who need academic assistance because to me, education is very important and everyone deserves the right to get the help they need to understand the material. I am sure that I can raise your child's academic level and help them achieve the excellence they deserve. Experience: I have tutored primary schoolers as part of a community service program. I helped a child who had just immigrated from China to Australia learn English and was highly praised as he felt that I had helped him a lot due to the fact that I could speak Mandarin to translate the definitions of vocabulary for him. Email: charmianc@student.unimelb.edu.au I'd like it if you could email/text me to enquire about tutoring first. Qualifications: I finished my VCE in 2012 studying English Language, French, Chinese Second Language, Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics and Chemistry. School: Yarra Valley Grammar ATAR Obtained: 98.05 I am currently doing my 2nd year in the Bachelor of Biomedicine at the University of Melbourne. I can speak English, Cantonese, Mandarin and I have learnt French since 2007. I also understand Shanghainese and can speak some of it. I have learnt violin since I was the age of 5. I have learnt two types of violin studies: the Suzuki Method and AMEB method. I am currently doing 8th Grade AMEB and hope to complete my A.Mus.a in a couple of years. I was awarded the Principle Violinist position and the Leader of the Orchestra position at my school. I competed in my school's concerto competition and placed in the top 5, earning myself an Honourable Mention. I have been awarded plaques at Music dinners at school, such as the Yarra Music Orchestra Award (2012), Bursary Award (2009) and the Middle School Strings Award (2009). I have been a part of various ensembles, such as the Orchestra, Kriesler Strings (String Orchestra), Symphonic Band (on the flute), a Celtic Band, Senior Voices (choir), Blue Harmony (a selective choir) and a string quartet. I would like to start of by teaching newcomers to the instrument by helping them with skills and the fun of learning some beautiful pieces. My charging fee is negotiable depending on age and level It would be great if the student could email me and let me know about their year level, difficulties and how they would like me to help them. I am very flexible as to how I structure my lessons and what material is needed as it is important it is customized to suit each student.
