I am currently working as a senior Secondary teacher and I have witnessed many students struggling to achieve academic and personal success in their final years of secondary school. I can offer my experience of working with a variety of student abilities and multicultural backgrounds, from reception to mature age students completing year 13. My aim has always been to assist students in the lower years of schooling to become effectively engaged in learning and to maintain this motivation through to tertiary education or life outside of the classroom. I am passionate about structuring my lessons, activities and assessments using differentiation to ensure that all students understand what is required and do not become discouraged. I also greatly enjoy using my skills in ICT in delivery of classroom content and assessments as this is a mode of delivery that students understand and generally feel more comfortable using than a large amount of paper reading material. Where appropriate, I provide students with information required via ICT and add to this with worksheets and notes as required. I also believe strongly in one to one time with students that require additional assistance to complete their schooling. I am available to help week nights and as I am not an 'early to bed' person, I do not mind assisting students late at night also available weekends and school holidays, either over skype, phone, email or face to face as required.
