Hello! My name is Matthew and I am studying 3rd year Medicine/Surgery at the University of Adelaide. I have had 3 years of experience as a tutor and I've thoroughly enjoyed working with my students to unlock their potential and achieve their personal best. I complete the International Baccalaureate in 2010 with a total score of 41 which is equivalent to an ATAR of 99.20. I scored a UMAT percentile of 92. My individual subject scores for IB were: -- Chemistry HL (7) -- Physics HL (7) -- Mathematics HL (6) -- Mandarin B SL (7) -- Economics SL (6) -- English A SL (6) Subjects I tutor: --- Chemistry - Secondary --- English - Primary --- Essay Writing - Primary --- Maths - Primary, Secondary --- Physics - Secondary --- UMAT - Exam I charge $35/hour for one-on-one tutoring and $25/hour person for group tutoring. But this will depend on how long each session goes for. I am generally available everyday with the exception of the weekends. I am available through the holidays for those who wish to get ahead of their studies (strongly suggested if you are planning to undertake the international baccalaureate or struggling with a subject). However, I am able to have some degree of flexibility, so let me know if another time is required. It is preferred that the sessions take place at Hub Central at the University of Adelaide; more information about this facility can be found on the unversity's website: http://www.adelaide.edu.au/hub-central/ Prior to each session, I will prepare notes/worksheets for the session. However, with some sessions, I will ask students to take notes themselves as they tend to understand the concepts better this way. In terms of structure, my session generally begin with a Q&A for any urgent topics that need to be explained/covered before I begin tutoring. I tend to tutor topics in advance to what is taught at school. Note: I will also help/proof-read any internal assessments and practical reports. However, in regards to helping in IB Mathematics IAs, I encourage them to work out the IA and discover on their own as much as possible; I will provide support/hints when necessary.
