I am a university student looking to help struggling VCE or IB students, but am also able to help younger students. I prefer to teach students how to understand the material rather than just focus on the content as this will be more beneficial in the future. In my experience, understanding is crucial in the long-run and so I don’t like to skim over the basics. For subjects like maths, I provide questions to build a steady foundation. I have a request that my students send me the problems they are having trouble with at least a day before I see them so that I’m not wasting time, and I can work on the problem by myself first. Depending on what the student wants I either follow their class schedule and go through the topics in advance, or just work on the problems that the student has. I'm available to meet at the state library any day of the week after school, or on weekends, but I am happy to arrange another place or a home visit if you are not too far, however rates will vary (this can be negotiated). I'd also be happy to do a trial session at a cheaper rate.
