As a tutor, I become very invested in my students. To me, it is important to see my students grow and learn to understand new concepts and ideas and sometimes even adopt new ways of looking at problems and conveying themselves. I use worksheets and notes drawn from a number of different sources as well as from myself. In the beginning of a tutoring relationship I will get to know the student's learning style and technique and then I built the foundations of the concepts and harder problems by reinforcing the simple ones and working up to the expected level. This strategy usually reveals the student's strengths and areas that need improving and that way we can start their improvement on a more basic level, meaning when we come back to the harder problems it will just be a matter of applying what they already know.
