IB skill practice

Use constant-acceleration equations

Paper 1, Paper 2 5 marks Difficulty 4

Displacement while slowing down

During a sports science launch test, an object starts at \(11\,\text{m s}^{-1}\) and has acceleration \(-3\,\text{m s}^{-2}\) for \(6\,\text{s}\). Calculate its displacement. Enter the numerical result and choose the interpretation that matches the physics meaning.

Worked practice: physics data and result

Read the physical quantities first, then calculate the result and state what it means.
