Definition of Quarter
When you divide an object up into four equal parts, you get four pieces of the object. A quarter is one of these four equal parts.
For example, someone has eaten one quarter of the cake in the picture.
We can write "one quarter" as the fraction \(\dfrac{1}{4}\), or the decimal \(0.25\).
Description
