Onkaparinga National Park features a magnificent gorge with commanding 50-metre high cliffs, large permanent rock pools and a diverse estuary environment to explore. South Australia's second longest river, The Onkaparinga, meanders through the gorge, transforming into an entirely different estuary environment of wetland ponds and flood plains. Admire the parks spectacular gorges along its wonderful network of walking trails. The parks rugged gorges and river plains also provide a natural corridor for wildlife. If you’re into bushwalking, head to the northern side of the gorge along Piggott Range Road. The southern entrance along Chapel Hill Road provides easy access to the gorge area.
