Port Hughes Coastal Trail

Favorite
The Port Hughes Coastal Trail follows the cliffs and foreshore from Simms Cove to South Beach - a distance of 2.5 kilometres. Along the trail, ten signs tell the story of Port Hughes' history from a fishing village, to an important distribution point for Yorke Peninsula's agricultural produce and finally its emergence as an important tourist location. The signs also refer to the importance of managing the coastal environment in a way that limits the destructive forces of water, wind and people. A brochure that describes how to find the trail and provides an overview of the signs can be obtained from tourist information centres, local caravan parks and the Port Hughes General Store.
