Cunderdin Municipal Museum
Cunderdin Municipal Museum
The Cunderdin Municipal Museum contains an interesting collection of antiques, relics and vintage machinery gathered from the surrounding area. Housed in the original pump station, the building is a magnificent sight with its tall chimney visible for miles. Enter the interactive Earthquake House, which is a recent addition to the museum, to gain an appreciation for the huge earthquake that hit the area in the 1960s.
Stroll through the indoor display, which includes a magnificent Tiger Moth aeroplane suspended from the ceiling. Learn how the early settlers of the agricultural town lived and see the influence the goldrush had on Cunderdin. Take a walk outside to see an extensive collection of vintage tractors and farm machinery.
Driving through the town of Cunderdin your eyes will be drawn to the Ettamogah Pub. The unusually shaped building with a red roof and truck on top is based on the Ken Maynard comics. Stop in for meal or drink before taking a five minute drive to Cunderdin Hill Lookout for panoramic views across the wheatbelt country. Cunderdin is just two hours southeast of Perth.
