Auckland is New Zealand's largest city. Even though it has spread north and south it is amazing that within 35 minutes traveling time you will be in the heart of the Waitakere ranges rain forest. From the view points in the ranges you will be able to look back across to the city and out to the west coast with stunning views. You will visit Muriwai where from the cliff top you can see the local gannet colony (October to March) and gaze down upon Muriwai beach as it stretches out into the distance. Tides permitting we then drive the beach for about 12 km to our exit point which will take us over a sand dune to Woodhill forest. You travel through the forest where you may see wild dear, native bush, birds. We then travel back to Auckland city.
