Danggali Wilderness Protection Area and Conservation Park

Favorite
Danggali Wilderness Protection Area and Conservation Park is situated 90 kilometres north east of Adelaide. The park is known for its vastness and wilderness appeal and is dominated by Mallee scrubland. In 1977 the park was classified as Australia's first Biosphere Reserve under UNESCO's 'Man and the Biosphere Program'. The park provides habitat to many semi-arid land birds which offer interesting opportunities for birdwatching. You may also see red and western grey kangaroos grazing in the scrub. The Danggali provides visitors with opportunities to enjoy remote area camping, interesting bird watching and the chance to explore relics of pastoral history. Self-registration and payment for camping is available at the park.
