Definition of Lakh
A Lakh is a unit in the Indian numbering system. It equals one hundred thousand.
Using the Indian way to group digits, it is written as \(1,00,000\).
Lakhs are commonly used in India and Nepal to describe large amounts of money. For example, \(240,000 \text{ rupees}\) would be written as 2.4 lakh rupees.
