Definition of Line of Best Fit
A line of best fit (or trend line) is a line drawn on a graph to indicate the general direction that the data seems to follow.
Many lines can be drawn to indicate the general direction of the data values in a scatter plot. The line of best fit is the one that, roughly speaking, goes through the middle of all of the points on the scatter plot.
Description
The aim of this dictionary is to provide definitions to common mathematical terms. Students learn a new math skill every week at school, sometimes just before they start a new skill, if they want to look at what a specific term means, this is where this dictionary will become handy and a go-to guide for a student
