Definition of Line Symmetry



Line Symmetry is another way of describing reflectional symmetry.

If an object has line symmetry, then one half of the object is a reflection of the other half.

The vertical, red dotted line is an imaginary line along which you could fold the butterfly and find that both halves match up together perfectly.

We call this line an axis of symmetry.

Description

The aim of this dictionary is to provide definitions to common mathematical terms. Students learn a new math skill every week at school, sometimes just before they start a new skill, if they want to look at what a specific term means, this is where this dictionary will become handy and a go-to guide for a student
