Definition of Period
The period is the length travelled along the \(x\)-axis as a periodic function moves from one peak to the next peak (or from any fixed point to the next fixed point)
In Physics, the period is the time that it takes for a periodic function to move from one peak point to the next peak point, while the wavelength is the distance between the peaks of a periodic function.
Description
The aim of this dictionary is to provide definitions to common mathematical terms.
