Definition of Pyramid
A pyramid is a solid object with
- A polygon (a plane shape with straight edges) for a base
- Sloping sides that are triangles that meet at the apex (the top)
Pyramids are one type of polyhedron.
The picture shows a pentagonal pyramid, but you can use any polygon as the base of a pyramid. The most common types of pyramids are triangular pyramids and square pyramids.
Description
