Definition of Position
The position of an object tells us where it is with respect to other objects.
Terms used to describe the position of an object include "left", "right", "up", "down", "under", "over", "in front of" and "behind".
For example, in the picture:
- The goat is in front of the pig.
- The farmer is beside the sheep.
- The tractor is to the right of the tree.
- The house is behind the large cow.
Description
The aim of this dictionary is to provide definitions to common mathematical terms. Students learn a new math skill every week at school, sometimes just before they start a new skill, if they want to look at what a specific term means, this is where this dictionary will become handy and a go-to guide for a student.
