Definition of Pictograph
A Pictograph is a graph that uses pictures or symbols to represent data.
Each picture is given a certain data value.
For example, if each picture of a child in the pictograph shown represents \(10\) children, then
- \(70\) children take the bus to school.
- \(40\) children go to school by car.
- \(60\) children ride their bikes to school.
- \(30\) children walk to school.
Description
The aim of this dictionary is to provide definitions to common mathematical terms. Students learn a new math skill every week at school, sometimes just before they start a new skill, if they want to look at what a specific term means, this is where this dictionary will become handy and a go-to guide for a student.
