Working with Requirements

Requirements refer to what can to be done to meet the objectives during development phase. The requirements module enables users to define, track requirements and manage at all stages of the software lifecycle.

The following are the key features in requirements module.

Creating Requirements:

Step 1: Folder for requirement is created first, before creating a requirement.

Step 2: The new requirements dialog, the fields are need to be filled in as shown .

Requirement Traceability:

It is used define link or relationship between two or more requirements.

Select the "Requirements" against to which the user supposed to add the dependent requirements. Press "ctrl+D" or go to requirement details.

Requirement Tree opens when you Click on "Add Requirement Traceability".

Click on "Impact Analysis" tab and the relevant requirement would be shown which will help us to test the impacted areas.

Traceability Matrix:

The traceability matrix tracks users to determine the extent of relationships between requirements and tests.

It helps users to check if all requirements are met and helps product owners to track changes to the scope of the requirements when they occur.

Traceability matrix can be generated by going to "Requirements" Module and click "View" >> "Traceability Matrix".

Click on "Configure Traceability Matrix" and define source requirements. Also define Filter by linked requirements or tests and click OK.

Now click "Generate Traceability Matrix" to generate the traceability matrix based on the filter criteria selected. The traceability Matrix generated will show how each one of the requirement is affected. It also generates two more sheets - source requirements and linked test in the same excel
