Definition of Abacus
An abacus is a collection of beads that slide on rods.
It can be used to count and do arithmetic.
Abacuses can be used to add, subtract, multiply and perform many other operations. Abacuses can even be used to calculate square roots.
Abacuses are still used in marketplaces in some parts of Eastern Europe, Russia, China and Africa.
Description
The aim of this dictionary is to provide definitions to common mathematical terms. Students learn a new math skill every week at school, sometimes just before they start a new skill, if they want to look at what a specific term means, this is where this dictionary will become handy and a go-to guide for a student.
