Definition of Acceleration
Acceleration tells you how fast the velocity of a moving object change.
It is usually measured in metres per second squared (\(\text{m/s}^2\)), but Gus the snail moves so slowly that he needs to measure his acceleration in nanometres per second squared (\(\text{nm/s}^2\)).
For example, if Gus is moving at \( 25 \text{ nm/s}\) and increases his velocity to \(27 \text{ nm/s}\) over the next second, his average acceleration for that second would be \(2 \text{ nm/s}^2\).
