An apothem is a line drawn from the centre of a regular polygon that meets one of its sides at right angles.
An apothem meets the side at its midpoint.
Apothems form radii for the incircle of a regular polygon.
Sometimes the term "apothem" is used to mean the length of the line segment drawn from the centre of a regular polygon that meets one of its sides at right angles.
