Definition of Divisor (of an integer)
A divisor is a number that divides into an integer evenly, with no remainder.
For example, \(3\) is a divisor of \(18\) because \(18 \div 3 = 6\), with no remainder.
For example, \(4\) is not a divisor of \(18\) because \(18 \div 4 = 4\), with a remainder of \(2\).
The divisor of an integer must also be an integer.
Another word for "divisor" is "factor".
