For example, the ternary number \(12\) is equal to \(1 \times 3 + 2 \times 1 = 5\) as a base 10 number.

The ternary number, \(120\) is equal to \( 1\times 3^2 + 2 \times 3 + 0 \times 1 = 15\) as a base 10 number.
