Twenty-Four Hour Clock
Definition of Twenty-Four Hour Clock
We use a twenty-four-hour clock when we tell the time using the whole 24 hours of the day. Midnight is represented by \(0:00\), and midday by \(12:00\).
For example,
- 5 hours and 35 minutes after midnight is written as \(05:35\), which is the same as \(5:35 \text{ AM}\).
- 2 hours and 15 minutes after midday is written as \(14:15\), or simply, \(1415\). This would be written as \(2:15 \text{ PM}\) using the 12-hour clock.
