Definition of Rational Expression
A rational expression is an expression that is a fraction of two polynomials.
Note: The polynomial in the denominator cannot be zero.
For example, \(\dfrac{3x^4 + 6}{2x^3 + 8}\) is a rational expression. Its numerator, \(3x^4 + 6\), is a polynomial, and so is its denominator, \(2x^3 + 8\).
