Definition of Scale Drawing
A scale drawing is a drawing of a real object which has each of its parts enlarged or reduced by a fixed amount (called the scale).
The scale of a drawing is shown as a length in the drawing, followed by a colon and the corresponding length on the real object.
For example, the scale on this scale drawing of the Fram is \(1:50\). This means that a length of \(1 \text{ cm}\) on the scale drawing corresponds to a length of \(50 \text{ cm}\) on the actual ship.
Description
The aim of this dictionary is to provide definitions to common mathematical terms.
