Standard Notation
Definition of Standard Notation
The standard notation for a number is simply the way we would usually write it.
The term is used to distinguish between our usual way of writing numbers, and writing them in expanded notation. For example, the expanded notation for the number \(347\) (in standard form) is \(3\times 100 + 4\times 10 + 7\).
