Definition of Slope
The slope of a straight line is a measure of how steep it is.
Another term for "slope" is "gradient".
The slope of a line is given by the formula:

\text{slope} = \dfrac{\text{vertical rise}}{\text{horizontal run}}.
\)
The slope of the line in the picture is \(\dfrac{2}{2} = 1\).
Description
