Supplementary Angles
Definition of Supplementary Angles
We say that two angles are supplementary if their sum is equal to \(180^\circ\).
Supplementary angles need not be adjacent (next to each other), they just have to add up to \(180^\circ\).
For example,
- \(50^\circ\) and \(130^\circ\) are supplementary angles.
- \(113^\circ\) and \(67^\circ\) are supplementary angles.
- The adjacent angles of a parallelogram are supplementary angles.
