Definition of Anticlockwise
Anticlockwise is usually used to refer to rotation in the opposite direction to the hands of a clock.
Your American friends will call it "counterclockwise".
We usually measure angles in an anticlockwise direction, and turn taps on by turning their handles in an anticlockwise direction.
