Definition of Constant
A constant is a value which is fixed. It does not change
A constant term in an algebraic expression is a number that stands on its own. Sometimes letters like \(a\), \(b\) and \(c\) are used to represent constants.
For example, in the algebraic expression \(3x + 4 = 7\), \(4\) and \(7\) are constants. In the equation \(y = mx + b\), \(b\) represents a constant.
Description
The aim of this dictionary is to provide definitions to common mathematical terms. Students learn a new math skill every week at school, sometimes just before they start a new skill, if they want to look at what a specific term means, this is where this dictionary will become handy and a go-to guide for a student.
