Definition of Century
A century is one hundred years.
We often talk about years in terms of the century they are in:
- The 1st Century ran from the year 1 to the year 100.
- The 2nd century ran from the year 101 to the year 200.
- \(\dots\)
- The 20th century ran from 1901 to the year 2000.
- The 21st century began in 2001. It will end in the year 2100.
