Definition of Conic Section
A conic section is a slice (or section) that is taken through a cone.
Taking slices at different angles through a right circular cone gives cross-sections that have the shape of circles, ellipses, hyperbolas and parabolas.
Description
The aim of this dictionary is to provide definitions to common mathematical terms.
