Cross Multiply
Definition of Cross Multiply
Cross multiplying is a way of rewriting an equation involving fractions in a simpler form.
We multiply both sides of the equation across the equals sign. So \(\dfrac{a}{b} = \dfrac{c}{d}\) becomes the equation \(ad = bc\).
For example, the equation \(\dfrac{3}{z} = \frac{x}{5}\) can be rewritten as \(3(5) = xz\).
