Definition of Common Difference
Arithmetic sequences are sequences in which each term is obtained from the preceding term by adding the same fixed amount. This fixed amount is called the common difference for the arithmetic sequence.
For example, the sequence \(\{3,7,11,15,\dots\}\) is an arithmetic sequence with a common difference of \(4\). Each term is formed by adding \(4\) to the preceding term.
